Quick steps

  1. Copy an individual video URL

Use the full public video address, not a profile or search page.

  2. Choose a source-quality option

Select Best available or a height cap and click Find video.

  3. Save the attachment

Click Download video and wait for your browser to complete the transfer.

  4. Inspect and organize

Play the MP4, check sound and visible marks, then keep it with the source and permission records.

A browser-based workflow for Windows and macOS

Saving a public TikTok video on a desktop computer involves a source address, an available MP4 and a completed browser download. ClipHarbor is designed to handle that flow without asking you to install a browser extension or create an account. Its main purpose is to request a source without a platform watermark when one is available. It does not edit the video to erase marks, and it cannot guarantee that the source is free of every logo. Only save content you own or have permission to download.

Keep the browser tab containing the original video open while you prepare the download. This makes it easier to verify that you copied the right post and later compare the saved file. A creator profile, search results page or short share link is not the supported input. Open the individual video and copy its full tiktok.com/@creator/video/123 address from the browser. Tracking parameters are removed during validation; you do not need to paste cookies, request headers or a TikTok password.

Choose the source quality you need

Paste the complete URL into ClipHarbor and choose a quality option. Best available requests the highest suitable combined MP4 source the extractor can obtain. The numbered choices set an upper bound on source height in pixels. For example, selecting 720p does not mean the server will create a new 720-pixel export from every original. If no appropriate source meets the chosen cap, the request can fail. Choosing a larger number cannot restore detail absent from the original upload.

Portrait dimensions deserve particular attention. A source that is 720 pixels wide and 1280 pixels high may be reported as 1280p because the current result label uses height. That is not a promise of landscape 1080p HD. Check orientation and actual playback rather than assuming that one number describes every aspect of quality. Compression, motion, focus and source material also affect the visible result. For editing or archival work, preserve the best original file you have rather than treating a social-platform copy as a master.

Process once, then save the file

Click Find video and allow up to two minutes for processing. The site limits concurrent requests and rejects media larger than 100 MiB. Repeatedly submitting the same address does not make the source more accessible and may reach technical request limits. A busy server, a deleted post, regional restrictions or a changed source can all prevent a result. If the original no longer opens publicly, do not try to solve that problem by adding account credentials to the downloader.

When the result is ready, review the reported details and click Download video. Your browser controls whether to ask for a location or use its default Downloads folder. ClipHarbor does not choose a directory or silently add files to an editor's library. A result card means the server prepared a temporary file; the browser still needs to transfer it. Wait until the browser's download list shows completion before opening the file in an editing workflow or moving it to another drive.

Find and organize your MP4

On Windows or macOS, begin with the browser's download list. It normally offers a way to open the file or reveal its containing folder. If you chose a custom destination, use that rather than assuming the file is in Downloads. File search can help, but a clear local folder is more reliable for repeated work. Create a folder for the project, record the creator and original URL, and keep any permission correspondence alongside the media.

Multiple downloads may share a generic filename, so check which file you are renaming or moving. Give it a descriptive name after the transfer completes. Include a project label or date if that helps your own organization, but avoid putting sensitive personal information into a filename you may later share. Copying a video into another folder does not create an additional usage license. If you maintain an archive, back up the completed files and the rights records instead of relying on a browser history entry.

Inspect playback before using the result

Open the MP4 in a trusted local player and check the beginning, middle and ending. Confirm that audio is present, the orientation is right and the entire clip downloaded. Inspect visible marks and captions. Excluding a source marked as watermarked is useful, but it is not a frame-by-frame analysis. A creator's own graphic or a watermark added before upload may still be part of the image. ClipHarbor does not remove those baked-in elements or guarantee an unmarked version of every post.

An MP4 extension identifies a container, not a promise that every application supports the contained codec. If a particular editor cannot import a file that plays in your browser, investigate the editor's supported formats before downloading repeatedly. Do not change the extension and assume that converts the media. Keep the original downloaded file while testing any conversion in a separate tool. That separate workflow may change quality, file size and metadata; it is not something the downloader silently performs for you.

Know when to retry or report an issue

Download links expire after ten minutes, so store the completed MP4 rather than bookmarking the temporary file URL. If you return after expiry, submit the original public post again. Check available disk space, network access and any browser download message before assuming the source is broken. If your computer is managed by an organization, its browser or security policy may affect downloads; do not disable protections broadly just to save a clip.

For a support request, report the browser, the chosen quality, the stage that failed and the exact visible error. Avoid sending credentials or private account details. The troubleshooting and file-size guides explain the service's limits in more detail. For authorized everyday use, a full public URL, one clear request and a verified local copy are usually enough. ClipHarbor remains independent from TikTok, and the presence or absence of a watermark does not decide whether you may republish the video.
