Quick steps

  1. Check your original files

Look for your camera recording or project export before retrieving a social-platform copy.

  2. Copy the public post address

Use the full URL of your individual public video; private drafts are unsupported.

  3. Prepare and save an MP4

Choose an available quality, find the video and complete the browser download.

  4. Verify and archive

Check playback and marks, then store the file with its source and relevant permission records.

Start with the best copy you already have

If you created a TikTok video and want to keep it without a platform watermark, first look for your original camera recording or editing-project export. That copy may contain more useful detail than a version processed for social-platform delivery. ClipHarbor can help retrieve a suitable source from a public video post when one is available, but it is not an account backup tool and does not recover private drafts, deleted originals or an entire profile. It also does not edit existing marks out of frames.

Decide whether you need a convenient viewing copy or a production master. Those are different needs. A downloaded MP4 may be useful for your own reference, while a master should ideally come from your recording or editing workflow. Keep the project files and any licenses for audio, graphics or other elements. Owning the camera footage is useful context, but the rights and terms for additional material still deserve attention before you publish the same video in a different setting.

Use a supported public post

For an existing public video, open the individual post in a browser and copy its full address. ClipHarbor accepts the tiktok.com/@creator/video/123 shape, with the actual creator and video identifier. An account page is not enough, and short share links are not currently supported as direct input. If needed, open the share link in a browser and copy the final video address. The tool does not require you to enter your TikTok password or export login cookies.

A private draft is a different situation. Use the original files and the platform's own account tools where applicable rather than assuming an external public-URL downloader can see your drafts. Do not publish something solely because a downloader needs public access if that does not match your intended audience. ClipHarbor cannot make a post public, bypass an account restriction or retrieve a removed source just because the person requesting it is the creator. Its access is limited to what the supported extraction workflow can obtain.

Request an available unmarked source

Paste the complete public video URL and choose a quality option. Best available selects the highest suitable combined audio-and-video MP4 after filtering out formats explicitly labeled as watermarked. A missing watermark label is not a frame-by-frame verification. If you added your own name, an editing-app graphic or a mark during production, it may still be part of every delivered version. The downloader does not remove it or reconstruct an earlier stage of your edit.

Select a numbered quality option only when a height cap is useful for your purpose. Those choices limit source height rather than creating a new export at an exact resolution. A portrait source can have a height such as 1280 pixels even when its width is 720. Check the quality guide before interpreting that result as a landscape HD promise. If you need exact dimensions for a client or archive, the original editing project gives you more direct control than a social-platform download.

Save the file and verify it

Click Find video once and allow processing to finish. The service allows up to two minutes and rejects files larger than 100 MiB. If a request fails, check that the original remains publicly available and that the chosen cap has a suitable source. A smaller menu choice will not force the server to transcode the video into a smaller file. Repeatedly submitting the same request can reach technical rate limits without changing the available media.

When the result is ready, use Download video and wait for the browser to finish the transfer. A prepared result is not the same as a saved local file. On a phone, start with the browser's Downloads list or the Files app; on a computer, use the download list or chosen folder. Play the completed MP4 and compare the opening, audio, orientation and ending with your original post. Keep it unchanged until you have checked that it is the right version.

Build an archive you can understand later

Rename the completed file descriptively and store it with the source URL, project name and relevant date. If you are managing different versions, distinguish the original camera recording, edited master, social-platform copy and any later export. A generic download filename is convenient during transfer but can be confusing in a growing archive. Keep permission or license notes for material you incorporated rather than assuming future collaborators will know how it was created.

The temporary ClipHarbor link expires after ten minutes. That expiry does not remove a completed file from your device, but it means the server link is not an archive. Save the actual MP4 and back it up using a method you control. If you return later, submit the original post address again instead of relying on the old temporary URL. A new request may encounter a changed or unavailable source, which is another reason to keep the copies you need locally.

Reuse thoughtfully and report technical problems

Before moving a video into another project, review the scope of any music, graphic or performance permissions involved. Keep attribution or contractual conditions with the file. A version without a platform watermark is not automatically a version cleared for every destination. If a client or collaborator needs a clean master, explain what the downloaded copy is and whether you still have the original export. Clear labels help prevent a convenient reference file from being mistaken for the production source.

If something goes wrong, report the stage, browser, selected quality and visible message using the support link. Do not send account passwords, private draft links or recovery information. A useful technical report explains whether the URL was rejected, processing failed, the link expired or playback was incomplete. The related troubleshooting guide covers those distinctions. For an everyday creator workflow, preserve your originals first, use the downloader for suitable public copies and keep a clear record of the files you intend to reuse.
